  • PEACE ADVOCATE PREP - May 23-25, 2013

    May 23-25, 2013 Peace Advocate Prep: This 3 day training opportunity will acquaint participants with the Biblical truths that are the foundation for Christian Resolution & Reconciliation, and will give them the tools they need to effectively coach others facing conflicts and disputes and to help parties who are willing to meet together in mediation find their way to reconciliation and a God honoring resolution. This event is open to everyone and includes:

    • -Pre-Workshop Online Study Covering Biblical Principles of Christian Resolution & Reconciliation
    • -Preparing for Outcomes That Glorify God
    • -Guiding Parties’ Interaction for Resolution/Reconciliation
    • -Gathering & Using Information to Achieve Resolution/ Reconciliation
    • -Exploring Options for Mutually Acceptable Outcomes
    • -Overcoming Obstacles to Resolution/Reconciliation
    • -Ethics and the Law in Christian Resolution & Reconciliation
    • -Getting to the Heart Issues
    • -Personal Coaching for Resolution/Reconciliation
    • -Four Hours of Simulated Mediation Role Play with Feedback

    Schedule: 8:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. daily.

    Prerequisites: Completion of pre-event preparation work which will be available online 30 days prior to the event.

    Cost: $395.00 for early registration on or before April 22. $495.00 after April 22. Cost includes snacks, lunches and all materials.

    Notes: This event satisfies PeacePoint’s Initial Training Requirement for Independent Peace Advocates. Completion of this course qualifies participants for PeacePoint advanced training, including Marriage Matters.

  • PEACE ADVOCATE PRACTICUM - May 25, 2013
    Event Date Event Location
    May 25, 2013 Peace Advocate Practicum: This 8 hour event provides an opportunity for Peace Advocates to practice their mediation skills in a “real life” situation. Participants co-mediate one case study and are the parties in a different case study during morning and afternoon sessions. Participants discuss their cases and receive feedback from PeacePoint observers following each session. This event satisfies the annual 5 hour mediation experience requirement for Independent Peace Advocates.

    Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Prerequisites: Completion of Peacepoint Peace Advocate Prep or Crossover Training. Peacemaker Ministries Foundational Skills Training is acceptable, as well.

    Cost: $95 for early registration on or before April 22. $125 after April 22. Cost includes snacks, lunch and all materials.

    Registration will close on May 17 to allow for distribution of case study materials to mediators and preparation. 

    Notes: This event satisfies PeacePoint’s annual five hour mediation experience requirement for Independent Peace Advocates. Peacemaker Ministries has also approved this event for five hours continuing education credit for Certified Christian Conciliators and Certification candidates.

  • MARRIAGE MATTERS - September 13-14, 2013
    Event Date Event Location
    September 13-14, 2013 Marriage Matters (PAT 210): This 2 day training event prepares persons with basic coaching and mediation training and experience to deal with the new unique and challenging issues of marriage conflict. Day 1 focuses on how to effectively engage and seek to overcome the relational issues that divide couples in a God honoring way. Day 2 focuses on how to help couples resolve the substantive issues they need to address (property rights, debt responsibility, support, child care and contact) going forward. Participants have the option of attending both days or Day 1 only.

    Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Prerequisites: Completion of Peacepoint Peace Advocate Prep or Crossover Training. Peacemaker Ministries Foundational Skills Training is acceptable, as well.

    Always Available Finding Peace with Others: Unity and harmony are important to God.  Because they are among His highest priorities, God expects all who know and follow Him to pursue peace with others.  If you want to seek reconciliation of a relationship or resolution for a particular dispute, this self-paced study will provide you with valuable information and direction.

  • HELPING OTHERS FIND PEACE - Online Anytime
    Date Self-Paced Online Study Location
    Always Available Helping Others Find Peace: People struggling with conflicts or disputes often experience confusion and uncertainty about how to find peace in their situation.  While God provides all they need to find genuine peace on their own, they may still need someone to guide them along the way.  Has God positioned you to help someone in your life find peace? If so, this self-paced study will help you love them with Jesus’ love, give them Godly direction and make the most of a wonderful opportunity.
